NYS DOL, Workforce and Training Division Training Grant: #25-M ADVANCE-NY
This grant application will assist businesses to train incumbent workers in specific, transferable occupational skills that lead to career growth and increase in wages. Companies can apply for $50,000 per year with a lifetime maximum of $100,000. Please read the Request for Application carefully, there are many differences from past applications. Two main differences are business with over 100 employees must pay a cash match of 25% of the cost of training and training is capped at $2,000 per trainee. Public, federal, state, county and local employers are not eligible to apply for this grant. To obtain details go to http://www.workforcenewyork.org/rfa25-m/rfa25m.htm. Anyone earning under $15.00 can now attend any or all four training sessions, no reviews are necessary!
Are you looking for an effective proven way to increase your retention rates for your employees? Do you wish all workers had some basic level of workplace skills? If you answered Yes to either of these questions, the Employee Enhancement Program is for you!
This four module workshop is designed to help workers develop soft skills necessary for success on the job. There are a few spots left in the next session beginning November 7th, the following series will be offered in January '08. All sessions run on Thursday mornings from 9-12am.

Please note, if you would like to enroll an employee in the WIB Credential Program that option is still available for new workers! For employees earning over $15.00 there is a $50.00 fee per module or $175.00 for the series plus a one time book fee of $10.00.

Job Hazard Analysis
Identify, then eliminate or reduce, workplace hazards before they injure your workers. Learn how to break tasks down into their component parts, determine what can go wrong at each step, and take action to prevent problems before they happen. This course is intended for safety officers, safety committee members, in-house inspection teams, and managers or supervisors with safety and health responsibilities.

OSHA’s Recordkeeping Rule
This course is for companies required to keep records of occupational illnesses and injuries for OSHA compliance. Attendees will receive the 300, 300A and 301 forms. You will learn how to determine what injuries are recordable and reportable per the rule and learn how to properly complete the recordkeeping forms and avoid over reporting of incidents.

10 Hour Construction Industry Safety Outreach Training
This two-day course provides an introduction to major issues and hazards and related OSHA regulations in the construction industry. Topics will include electrical safety, fall protection, chemical hazard communication and other safety and health topics to be arranged. Participants must attend all 10 hours of class to be eligible to receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health wallet size certificate card.”
