This unique local training program will help leaders create new networks of support, identify successful community building and housing techniques, and develop implementable local housing strategies.
This Program teaches participants about land use law, housing issues, specific land use techniques to address housing concerns, collaboration, and community decision-making techniques. The program trains local leaders to develop sound and balanced local strategies to accomplish housing objectives and to carry them out effectively. This 4 day program is being conducted by the Land Use Law Center of Pace University and is supported by the Dyson Foundation.

NYSDOL On Site Consultation Program, Safety Training:
OFFERED LOCALLY! 10 Hour Construction Safety & Health Outreach Training
This two-day, no cost course provides information on major issues and hazards and related OSHA regulations in the construction industry. Training topics covered include Intro to OSHA, safety motivation, fall protection, electrical safety, scaffolds, ladders, excavations, health hazards including silica and personal protective equipment. If there is a topic not proposed that you would like included, please let the trainer know so the topic can be accommodated. Six hours of specific training is cast in stone and required in all 10-hour courses. Time is available for additional material to be covered. Some topics not mentioned above such as cranes and hand tools can also be inserted. The program will generate a card for the trainee so that they can work on public works projects.

This training has been specifically developed to address the hazards commonly found in the hospitality and tourism industries, such as hotels/motels, restaurants, fast-food establishments, resorts, amusement parks, wineries, etc. Employers, supervisors, workers, and teens staring their first jobs can benefit from this seminar. You will learn how to identify and protect against many of the common hazards that cause injuries, e.g., slips/trips/falls, burns/cuts, electrical, back injuries, chemicals, fire hazards, etc.
