ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT) : is a great way to reduce the cost of training new hires. OJT is a wage incentive reimbursement program which assists when hiring a eligible job seeker that you feel could be successful in a position but requires training. The maximum amount of wage reimbursement is $3,000, however if the trainee has the opportunity to earn a recognized credential the reimbursement rate could increase to $4,000.
Keep in mind all jobs must be year round, at least 30 hours per week and pay at least $12.00 per hour. The positions cannot be in licensed occupations. The length of the contracts vary depending on the position skill level and the job seeker's qualifications.
